Art Care Guide

Caring for your artwork

Handcrafted surfaces are made to last a lifetime. A few gentle habits — and the right four tools — will keep your artwork as it was on the day it arrived.

Step 01 · Dust removal

Air Pump

Hold a hand air-pump blower 20–30 cm from the surface and use short, gentle bursts to lift dust from ridges and crevices — without touching the artwork.

Step 02 · Frame care

Microfiber Cloth

Use a clean, dry microfiber cloth to wipe the frame in one direction. Never apply water, sprays or polish to the frame or the artwork.

Frame only · weekly

Step 03 · Artwork surface

Long Soft Brush

A long-handled, very soft brush (goat hair or similar) lets you sweep dust from the surface with the lightest possible touch, following the direction of the texture.

Step 04 · Frame cleaning

Hard Brush

Where appropriate, a firmer brush can clear settled dust from frame corners and mouldings. Keep it strictly away from the artwork surface.

Always

  • Hang away from direct sunlight, heaters and air-conditioning vents.
  • Keep in a room with stable humidity, ideally 40–60%.
  • Handle the artwork by its frame, with clean, dry hands or cotton gloves.
  • Use two people and the fitted hardware when re-hanging large works.
  • Keep your Certificate of Authenticity and care card with the artwork.

Never

  • Apply water, cleaning sprays, polish or solvents to the surface.
  • Press, rub or wipe the textured surface with a cloth.
  • Use a hard brush on the artwork itself.
  • Hang in bathrooms, kitchens or other humid spaces.
  • Attempt repairs yourself — contact the studio for restoration.
